Hi, I’m Sara! I’m an Atlanta-based interdisciplinary scholar studying sexual and reproductive health (SRH) policy and equity.

Trained in health policy, health services research, and social science, my research examines the effects of SRH policies on the health and wellbeing of people who may become pregnant in the United States. I employ a socioecological framework and reproductive justice lens to my work, paying particular attention and devotion to SRH equity and the experiences of those living in the South. I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences and the Director of Research Translation with the Center for Reproductive Health Research in the Southeast (RISE) at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. In addition, I serve on the Board of Directors for the Atlanta Birth Center, Atlanta’s only freestanding, nationally accredited birth center.

I am also available for consulting work!
